Anglo-Canadien Cemetery

In the cemetery of AULNOY, a plot of land of 450m2, lined with a stony low wall and crashed by Irish yews and by flowering shrubs, shelters for all eternity the remains of 121 Canadian soldiers, 39 soldiers of the United Kingdom and 8 not identified soldiers (" Know unto God ").
It is Commonwealth War Graves Commission which assures(insures) the interview(maintenance) of these graves. Create in 1917 by royal charter, "Impérial War Graves Commission", called today "Commonwealth War Graves Commission", has for essential task the interview(maintenance) of the graves of the members of the strengths of the Empire (later the Commonwealth) died during both world wars and other local conflicts. His(her, its) second essential task is in the construction and the interview(maintenance) of the very numerous memorials and the monuments.

In France as to AULNOY, the plot of land where is implanted the cemetery was granted in the United Kingdom in sign of gratitude of the sacrifices granted by the allies. In every cemetery, we find a small stele of stone provided with an opening. The latter contains a register where are recorded (deposited) the names of the fighters which rest(base) in these places. The register contains a book in which every visitor can leave the track of its passage. In the middle of the cemetery of the Commonwealth raises itself(draws up itself) the cross of the sacrifice ( Great Cross) set by a two-edged sword and built in 1924.
Besides the name and first names of the fighter, also represent the following indications: rank / decorations / battalion or regiment / date and sometimes circumstances of the death / age and the place of birth.
